Multi-Substrate
One coating for GA steel, GI steel and aluminum battery structures.
One coating, several metals
GEOMET® 730 EV is applied on GA (galvannealed) steel, the most common battery case material today, and on GI steel and aluminum. Lower film thicknesses are achievable where the design asks for them.
Battery structures are changing
New platforms move the aluminum cooling plate to the top, where it becomes the upper case. Other concepts integrate the cells into the vehicle body. Each change moves where fire and corrosion protection is needed. A coating that works on more than one substrate can follow these designs instead of being redesigned for each one.
Substrates
- GA steelGalvannealed steel for upper and lower cases. In series production.
- GI steelHot-dip galvanized steel.
- AluminumCooling plates and next-generation structures.
Local supply through a global network
GEOMET® 730 EV is applied by licensed coating partners and supported by NOF Metal Coatings teams in Korea, Japan, China and Europe, with joint quality audits (GEOMET Quality Control) for every licensed line.
